Day 6
The next morning we got up and poped into the Cootamundra Park to see the busks of all the Australian Cricket Captains, as Cootamundra was the home of Australia's and the Worlds greatest cricketer off all time.
The Greatest of them all .... the Legendary Sir Don Bradman.
Sir Don's mums house
-
5th wicket partnership (with Sid Barnes 1946-47) 405
-
Highest Individual Test Batting Average (minimum 15 innings) 99.94
-
Scored the most runs in a single day’s play 309 v England, Leeds, 1930
-
Don hit just six sixes in his Test career, five v. England and one v. India. He also hit two fives and a staggering 618 fours in Test cricket.
-
Two test wickets
-
The record for the highest partnership for any wicket by Australia against all countries was established by Don Bradman and Bill Ponsford at The Oval in 1934 (451 for the second wicket)
-
Don Bradman’s batting average over his career in Test matches against all countries was 99.94 – if he had remained not out or scored 4 more runs and lost his wicket in his final Test innings at The Oval in 1948, he would have averaged 100 per innings
Our next stop was for a photo with a wombat onto of a rock, which with a hotel is the only real things in the town.... and the name of the town would be.... well off cause 'WOMBAT'.
After driving through Young we came to the second reason why we came this way towards Sydney, it was to go through the bush town of Bathurst and to have a drive around the worlds toughtest race track.... MOUNT PANORAMA... home of the Bathurst 1000.
It was just great to do some laps around Bathurst (5 in all) but fairdinkum if I was doing the speeds those blokes do, I reckon I would shit myself this is one scary race track.
You can only drive around the track at 60k/h as there's speed camerias all around the track, also during our 5 laps around we drove passed three cops... fairdinkum.
The kiddies standing at the entrance to Pit straight.
The finishing line for the greatest race in the world.
Then we had a ripper road trip up into the mountains for 100kms to we reached Katoomba, where we were about to have a ripper arvo at Scenic World.
So after 6 days of been more busier then a one-legged Riverdancer! We had come to a stones throw of the finish as after this photo we had only a nice 214kms drive, down the mountains through Sydney and then onto Toronto...
The poor little fella Chase didn't like having to hold my hand along most of the walk, but seeing that we were walking along cliff faces, and the drop is about 760 metres (2,490ft) deep so he might be cranky but atleast he's safe.
Three Brothers and Three sisters!
Brother Oscar and the Three sisters!
Our walk along the cliff face to see the Three sisters up close.
After our walks around the forrest floor we headed for the Cable car to get a lift up out of the forrest, which then we took it back down again so we could catch the railcar back up .... Backwards!!!
Then we took the Skyway cablecar across the valley for another bushwalk.
Our walk through the forrest floor.
In the old days they use to mine all along this forrest floor, so the place is full of little mines and machinery from the old days.
Three sisters in the Blue Mountains
Jackos photos along the walk
It's the steepest cable-driven railway in the world with the incline of 52 degrees strewth! along a total of 310 metres .... and we were about to go down it!
Our notsoquick lap around the legandary track.
Stone the crows!
