    Day 3

So after a good night sleep I packed the kiddies back into the cattletruck and set off on a nice drive of only 752 kms, the first part went past quick until we reached the town of Kimba the unoffical 'Half way across Australia', and home to the worlds biggest Galah.

Here's a big Galah with a couple of little cheeky Galahs.

He might look all innocent but fairdinkum I wouldn't turst him for a minute.

Just as the sign say's Jacko... BIG GALAH!! ha,ha

From their we drove to Port Augusta where the kiddies had their first stop at Hungry Jacks! Fairdinkum their little eyes lid up when they saw the big sign, as their was no other fast food shops anywhere on our trip since we passed Mundaring ha,ha ( I failed to tell them that little fact ) ha,ha.

Not to many Kangas on the road this year... well live ones anyway.

Just After driving through the small towns of Port Pirie and Crystal Brook, we reached a little bush town called Burra. And doesn't it have a ripper old hotel, I reckon I can see your's truly sitting back enjoying a few coldies in that frount bar.

The Royal Exchange Hotel

Just outside of the township was the old Burra open-cut mine which is now a tourist attraction.

Here's the kiddies with the Ore Dressing tower in the background.

Photo of the nevilles with the old Peacock Engine house behind them.

Some old underground ore mine carts.

Here's the old Peacocks chimney built in 1857 it was connected to boilers for the winding engine inside Peacocks enginehouse, it was removed from the mine site so the modern open-cut mining operation could go ahead, it was rebuilt hear in 1972

Life's hard for a young fella... not only was Chase photo bombed on his first ever 'selfie' but he was tackled by Oscar aswell... But still he got off a ripper photo.

We then had a nice drive to the riverside South aussie township of Morgan, which lies on the muddy banks of the world famous Murray River. With a small popilation of 426 morganites, you could say it's just a little historic riverbank community.... with two ripper Pubs.

The historic Terminus Hotel with the very drinkable Commercial in the background, both Pubs look like bloody rippers imagine sitting back at sunset where everything turns 'aussie orange' sinking a coldie and watching a riverboat chug-on-by.... maybe an attractive bar sheilah filling up ya schooner glass.... but unfortunately your's truly had a cattletruck full of bloody nevilles mmmm maybe next time... bugger!

Another 'First' for the kiddies was there very first car ferry across not only a river but the world famous MURRAY RIVER!

From inside the cattletruck

Ahhh that 'Aussie Orange' sunset coming in tells us that we have to set up camp, but unfortunately the Morgan's caravan park was full up so we had to go to Plan B....

The kiddies with the mighty MURRAY RIVER in the background.... what a beautiful place Morgan is truly it's worth the drive.

'Oh come on Dad one more photo it's the mighty Murray River Dad'... How can I argue with that!

PLAN B

Well it was to long a drive to the next town so we had to go out into the scub and do some good old 'Bush camping', the place was called 'Hogwash bend'..... no lights, no dunny and no cost!

Bush camping.... With just your's truly, five nevilles and 6000 screaming murray mossies ha, ha life doesn't get much better then this!
