No7 The Rose & crown hotel

The Rose & Crown Hotel in Guildford is the oldest pub in WA built in 1841, Fairdinkum...

Interestingly in the historic smugglers cellar which has the hand marked beams with its hand made nails holding up the 800 sq mt 2 storey Pub have beams markings dating back 1837 crikey. So this is seriously a very old pub as Perth itself was founded way back in 1829, so this hotel popped up not that much after bloody Perth!

The Rose & crown was famous for its tunnel (now collapsed & closed) that run underground for hundreds of meters to the swan river, so the grog smugglers could get their goods up & down to the river with out detection. But to be fairdinkum we don't really drink in the fount bar anymore, as this is now reserved for a ripper restaurant. So if you want to wash the dust out of your throat, you have to go out the back.

And isn't it a bloody beauty fairdinkum it is almost a bloody third of an acre big, it must be one of the best beer gardens in Australia, in fact I would even go as far to say that it could be the best Beer garden in Australia! And that's saying something, and it's got something that almost no beer gardens have got... An actual fucking GARDEN! And this was the last day before we had to start wearing masks, we watched our state premier (on the telly) tell us that from six o'clock that night we would go into lock-down. Luckily it was only for about a month but we still had to wear masks for a bit longer then that.
