Drive to Wave rock (Part1)
While staying at the York farm we spent the day driving to Wave rock, this was one big day out as we drove a total of 520kms. Our first pit-stop was to a Dog grave yard just outside Corrigin.
Doesn't matter where you go there's always a bloody Oscar!
And Jason!
And then we were into Corrigan the home of the world record 'Most dog's in utes', and as you can see Eric our gnome came for the drive too. If your wondering they got a bloody ripper 1,527 dog's in utes in 2002.
We drove along the Tin horse highway which is on another post, till we got to Lake Jilakin which is a salt lake along the Kulin-Holt rock road.
After a few turns and a few kilometers we finally drove into Hyden which is on the doorstep of Wave rock, we stopped there to have a feed and to stretch the legs and to have a squizz at some of the so-called Street Scape Art!
Know as Hydens first power station! ha,ha what a bloody ripper idea.
These sculptures made from old farm machinery, implements and scrap metal that tell the history of Hyden, from early times prior to settlement, through to the first pioneers in the 1970’s. Fairdinkum it's worth the trip through the township just to have a gander at these sculptures.
All fun and games..
