Australia Day

Well it was that time of year for us to get together and train ride ourselves into Perth town for another Australia Day, and our first stop on the day was at East Perth for a nice stroll across Graham Farmer Fwy bridge till we got to the new stadium. And what a bloody ripper she is that's her in the background by the way, and she should be a bloody ripper as she cost a bloody 1.2 Billion Crikey!

And on our walkabout around Perth we bumped into the statue of Captain James Stirling, who if your not to sure who Stirlo is he was a British naval officer who establish the Swan River Colony and became the first Governor of Perth.

Here's the mob with the swan river and Perth in the background.

Here's yours truly with Chase and Oscar getting our seat on the grass, all ready for the fireworks which were about to start just after sun-set.

Sarah just hanging...

And then the great aussie music started pumping out of the speakers all along the foreshore, Great Southern Land, Thunderstruck, April sun in cuba, Eagle Rock, Khe Sanh, and the un-official Aussie anthem Land Down Under and to finish on the oldie from Peter Allan 'I Still call Australia home' was just special.... They did a real beaut job putting this event on today and we can't wait till next years one.

Well the kiddies had fun on the swings and stuff on the foreshore and as we were leaving I thought, well could you get a more aussie photo then one with an outside dunny. So here we are with a pretty cool aussie photo on Australia Day.

And we walked around till we reached the Bell Tower, and got our last photo for the day. Fairdinkum what a bloody ripper day just walking about with my little mates, a few beaut feeds, great aussie music and an awesome fireworks display and now for a drive home and then time for a nice cold chilled beer mmmm.
