Mundaring Weir walkabout
As well as being an idyllic place for a scenic drive, a bbq with mates, or bushwalking, Mundaring Weir is also an important part of Western Australia's heritage. Located up in natural bushland in the Darling Range, Mundaring Weir is one of the world's greatest engineering projects fairdinkum. Completed in 1903, the Weir was the start of the water pipeline that pumped water to the Kalgoorlie goldfields, some 700 kilometres away crikey.
Today's walkabout was up at the Weir where we walked across the dam, and then a walk along the bottom and then back up to the top where the car was parked. half way along the Weir walkway I told the kiddies if I catch them I'll throw them over the fence, talk them shitting themselves. All a good laugh ha,ha... Don't you just love parenting ha,ha...
