Now for the paving (Stage 3)

Somethings I just never look forward to doing and sometimes that's why things get done slowly, and paving is differently one of them. The cost isn't much fun but have you ever lifted paving, and then placed paving down you might know where I'm coming from. As you can it looks like three different home owners have laid three different types of pavers, In three different types of laying styles, which if we are successful then we will have the whole are done in one type of paver.

All those nice new pavers that we brought and moved from out front to the side of the house, now at some stage these will be all laying on the ground.

Luckily for yours truly I had a dogs body to give me a hand yep my notsolittle fella Oscar, I worked with him today but I also had some pavers to bring from the front yard to the side so it would be easier to get our hands on.

Almost done young fella.

With the pavers gone we filled the area with new paving sand

The start of a very back braking job but deep down it was also a lot of fun, we designed our new paving style yes it meant a lot of cutting but I knew it would be worth it.

Starting to take shape but I'm not looking forward to the pave cutting.

Have way done and the back is killing me but I just think all the exercise I'm getting.

Done! But I was still only at the half way along on stage 3, as I still had all the paver cutting to do. Then there was still the stears to the backyard to do, and moving the kids playground.

All the old pavers from the Patio that Oscar pulled up was moved to the wooden deck, and I have another job for them but that is a bit further along.

I can't start to tell you how long cutting pavers actually take and the dust is just unbearable, but it's a job that has to be done and I know it will look so much better then having the pavers just square.

I was actually able to coach Jacko out of behind his x-box to do some paver cutting, and he worked on the area around the support poles. That's one job I don't have to do.

This job was a bastard but it looked so good, if I might say so myself.

The best part of doing this job was the fact that we were almost done with the major paving, Oscar brushing in paver lock sand which keeps away weeds and hopefully ants.

And just as the night came in we had finished the major paving which was a good feeling, but still I know deep down we still had a lot of work to do before it would be finished.

The next weekend we started to look at our next job, those bloody stairs but first we had old pavers to lift before anything.

All going well I had to replace the watering pipe underground and levelling out the ground.

Have you ever tried to saw cut a train rail slab ha,ha. I was going to keep these wooden sleepers in place now, until we could save enough money to replace them with blocks. So some cutting was needed and that's what they got.

First step done and everything is going down well.

Second step down and then third fast behind it and now for the connection between the steps and the Patio.

And with some backbreaking more paving it was finally connected and looking pretty beaut.

And with that done it was time to grab a beer and move into that chair and just gander upon my hard work, fairdinkum in the end I'm not sure how long it took me but it was hard and it was a nice feeling just sitting back and knowing I was going to have a rest next weekend.
