That time of week again

Well today is the day that the Osk gets to plant his steel caps inside Midlands magnetic old Princess The Commercial Hotel, and we don't even have to worry about washing the dust away from our throats, as the rain was coming down like cats and bloody dogs during the day.

But the rain wasn't coming down as bad as it did a few weeks ago, just have a gander at the pub after a heavy night's watering. Crikey Midland doesn't do very well when it comes to rain, if it's coming down more than an hour then you could be in a world of hate.

But getting back to this beaut old sheila, she was built way back in 1901 and is hidden away in the back streets of Midland on Railway Parade. In its hay days it would be jammed parked with labourers after knocking off time at the workshops across the railings, fair dinkum they'd be packed in as tight as a fish's freckle. But these days it's a bit more laid back 'easy going style inside', the beer garden has a nice and cosy atmosphere during summer.

But today with the rain coming down hard, a barstool with some hot chips washed down with a Blackfish inside seemed like a ripper idea for yours truly.

Without a doubt The Commercial hotel would be the best Pub in Midland and well worth having a nice cold pint on a hot friggin' day.
