The first arvo I dug a trench along the fence so I could get it dug out before we started on the retaining wall which was the rail sleepers, it was about then I thought it might be nice to leave it all as soil. Fairdinkum I'm getting old.

Then came the major digging which Harry and Oscar gave me a hand, to be hones Oscar was the main helper but any helper was well accepted.

It just took so long, and it was bloody hard work, and it actually took two arvoes to get the soil away before we could attack the rail sleepers. This is where Jacko came in handy as he helped getting out the posts which were cemented in, but also with getting rid of them off site and off to the tip.

Harry came in handy as he organised to buy the 1501's blocks at a bloody good prise, and he also picked them up in to trips so I could get started on more digging.

After hitting our dept I placed down some wooden footing sides which I would pour concert, to give the retaining wall some strength under the ground.

Before I poured the footings, I placed in the Reo bars and placed the blocks around to make sure I was at a good hight and then poured the concert before calling it a day.
