Well, the boys and I are jumping onto the new Ellenbrook train, which can now deliver potential drunks to Perth City. That's where we come into the story, as it's a friday arvo, and everybody deserves a cold beer on a friday arvo after a long hot day working in the sun... Sweating it out, time to replace that lost water.

Inside the new train station

Our first pub to enter was a little bar hidden on Saint Georges Terrace down a set of stairs in a basement and was named Foxtrot Unicorn.

Hiding underground in an old bank vault built in 1887, the bar was once home to the Western Australian Club. These walls have seen some shenanigans in their time!

Our second bar was the little Winston Churchill bar, which is nestled between skyscrapers. This nice tidy pub is packed with will suited after-work people, except us we were a bit scruffy.

When you're in Perth you have to get a photo with the big fella himself.

We tried to get into the lucky shag but there was a que to get in and trust me I'm a bit too old to be queuing up just to get a friggin' beer, but right next door to the shag was this little drinking hole which use to be a restaurant but now it's run by the lucky shag.

So, we grabbed a table and sank another beaut brew, and as you can see you couldn't have gotten any closer to the river.

We just made it to the ferry. crikey, it always makes me feel a bit uneasy when I say I'm jumping onto a ferry! But at least it won't take long (I think that sounds worse).

Well, after our ferry ride—and you might be happy to know my sphincter is intact—we reached our destination, which was the Princess of Perth town, the one and only Windsor Hotel. crikey, isn't she a ripper?

She is one bloody ripper pub to sink a coldie in, and not only that we were about to hit a good feed also.

So wit a nice Parmy in my tummie it was time to catch the ferry back across the swan to Perth town, and then a nice walk to our last pub for the night.

Here's Oscar showing us the Brass Monkey Hotel which was going to be our last pub for the night.

At the bar inside the Brass Monkey, we order our beers and moved around inside to see what's going on in here tonight, into the beer garden and then around into the back bar for a gander.

Finally, we managed to grab a seat up on the veranda where we could sit back and take in the Northbridge aroma, which at times can be quite interesting to see but it was just a nice night, so we enjoyed our beers in the cool air.

After a long day at work starting a 4.45 I knew we were really pushing our luck to stay awake, but it wasn't till we hit the train that Jacko then Oscar started to fall asleep. We had a ripper time out and it was great for the first time to be able to catch the train home to Ellenbrook trust me I wasn't looking forward to the walk from the station, but you can't win them all.
