Downtown Pingelly, you might think to yourself for what God forsaken reason yours truly might be standing on Park Street in Pingelly, well it's actually because I had a 'Castle moment' the other night. No3 kiddie Harry yelled out 'Dad there's a bloke in Pingelly who's selling some back draws for the 4x4 for $300 on marketplace' I replied, 'How old' he said, 'A few years' I said 'Tell him he's dreaming'.

And with that Harry got him down a bit and now I'm standing five pubs away from home on a friday night in Pingelly.
And also, I wasn't going to have one of my kiddies driving way out into the sticks, to meet some odd fella selling stuff out of the back of his yard. You know that feeling when someone talks about a bush town, and you think to yourself 'I can hear banjos', and then I crack myself up and harry just looks at me thinking WTF (obesely someone born way after Deliverance).

And after meeting the fella and finding out he was a bloody ripper bloke, Harry brought the draws, and we popped into The Exchange Tavern to sink a nice cold late arvo beer.

So now were hitting the second pub in Pingelly which is surprisingly named 'The Pingelly Hotel', So what to do in this amazing wheatbelt outpost you might ask? Well, there's the courthouse museum, a walk along the Pioneer Park (where between you and me I think that's where they hide the bodies), and their biggest attraction is the Boyagin Rock Nature Reserve, which consists of a lot of bush and a big rock (hence the name).

Now I know this place sounds just marvellous but the one thing that blows my mind is it has TWO PUBS! That's right two! The town consists of 809 Pingellians, 605 dwellings, a road named Pitt Street, 90.452 flies and Two pubs. And right now, were standing in the beer garden of the second one.

After a short drive from Pingelly we made our way into another loverly wheatbelt town of Beverly, and found out that the next pub was shut... bugger! So, we diverted our attention to the next pub, which was just across the park, The Bedford Arms hotel.

Inside The Bedford Arms was a real nice pub with a friendly atmosphere and tonight it was pretty full so quiet a nice place to be to enjoy watching the footy.

The Pubs claim to fame was their choice of the legendary pub feed... The chicken Parmy! You could choose from fifteen different Parmis! I was in heaven! So, me being me I decided to go for the Classic, yes, it's just like me simple and plane but tastes marvellous! which also comes with chips on the side.
So, after the footy match and with our tummies full of parmy we set off for the last hundred odd kilometres back home, it was an interesting drive out to the wheatbelt and I'm sure I'd love to do it all again soon..... soonish.
