And it goes on...

Then I started on the second little wall that would separate the garden from the paving, I find this sort of thing fun at times, but I was still getting over covid, so I was just getting things done each day, bit by bit.

Before I hit that wall, I had to fill in all the main retaining wall with concrete, which as I was making my own cocreate mixing it in the old wheelbarrow it took a bloody long time doing it. But I find thigs like that fun... I am strange,

With all the wall filled I turned back to the small garden wall

I used the old bricks that I got for free from a house in Perth, I used them on the seating area when I built onto the Patio, fairdinkum I just love those old bricks.

The next job was to attack the old step as I put this on to my old job to stop sand and dirt to get onto my pavers, but I wasn't happy with the step, and I thought I could change it now before I went on with the paving.

So, where did all that soil and sand from the two little mountains go, I hear you ask? well one wheelbarrow after another and I pretty well filled the fount yard up.

And also covered all the kiddies park in the back yard, at least to carry one shovel full load at a time was a lot easier than a bloody wheelbarrow out to the front yard.

Then I started the back breaking paving which I knew was going to be hard on my back, and I was right, I must be getting old. I was always going to do the same patten of putting a straight line of pavers, then a red clay paver for a boundary line then back to masonry pavers but on an angle.

Fairdinkum it is a bloody pain in the ass putting them down, and to make it worse there is heaps of paver cutting to do. Which covers you in bloody paver dust, but when you sit back with the finished product it looks so much better.

Now that I had ripped out all their old step, I had the chance to start the new one, I thought this might be a good idea, so I then started with this.

And as you can see the old steps had taken a beaten while I was working on the retaining wall, so now it was time to pull all this down and start with my new idea.

At the same time, I replaced all the old paving leading up to the steps, and then suddenly I was nearing my finish line...

First my landing step was finished and now to hit the other steps.

That looks better and all finished for now...

Now to hit all the cuts that I have to do to finish off the paving, and now that the cement inside the wall was pretty hard, I cemented down the capping slabs which gives the wall a nice finish.

And with all the cuts placed it was time to do the last proper job.

Now I do love this part as it is really the end of all the hard work, the sand is fine and moves into all the gaps in your paving.

In doing so it hardens and keeps the paver in one place and should stop most ants coming through but let's be fairdinkum you won't stop all the ants! It's imposable...

I turned around and the little bugger was out on the paving with her toys, I had to laugh but the best thing was it was all done.

Once I swapped off all the spear stabbing sand, I started on Mackenzies Garden putting in the retic and sprayers then some good soil going in with tomato's, carrots and strawberry's getting planted. You know once Tania got Macar to water her plants, she walked over and got her chair and sat down to watch her plants grow. How bloody funny was that fairdinkum it was all worth it just to see her do that.
