Well we started the day with the idea that we might drive straight home from here tonight, but it all depends if Eddy the blue beaut ute drives well, and if we don't say bugger it and pull over in some parking bay in the middle of nowhere.

ree

Our first stop was to fill up at the Mundrabilla roadhouse and if you have to stop anywhere on the Nullarbor then you should do it here, fairdinkum there are a nice mob and you can always have a good chat with the staff out here. Just imagine working out in the middle of nowhere in a place that you get up in the morning, you go to work and then end your shift and put your feet up in the same place to started in the morning. And you do that week in and week out, it's hard but at the same time it's a very restful way of life.

ree

184kms down the Nullarbor we stopped at the Cocklebiddy roadhouse which has strong memories for yours truly, as it's where the misses Tania lived when we started dating.

ree

This is the motel next door to the roadhouse where Tania use to clean and staff, and she also worked on the pumps and waitress in the restaurant.

ree

And this is where Tania lived while she worked at Cocklebiddy which was over a year, she also moved down to Caiguna and lived there with yours truly.

ree

Inside Cocklebiddy roadhouse where you can get a bite to eat you know all the good stuff like hot chips, sausage rolls and chicken bites.... yummy, and if you turn to the right you can enter the bar area.

ree

And you walk into the bar area which is were the most important thing in Cocklebiddy is... The Bar! We played a fair few games of pool on that table and made heaps of memories, the beers cost a fair bit but when your 437kms away from the nearest proper pub you can't really argue the point.

ree

And there got some new toilets! unfortunately they won't plumbed in yet so we had to use the old ones out the back, but next time we might get to use them.

ree

So after a few photos we were about to hit the road again after a quick cold beer, a nice rest and tummy filled with a few chicken drumstick things we were on our way.

ree

And this drive brought back so many memories as I would pop up to see Tania when I was living in Caiguna, and then when we both lived in Caiguna we drove up here for a night out. It was only sixty kilometers one way so it was closer then anywhere else, and when your living in the middle of nowhere it's just nice to get away for some time away even if it is only another roadhouse.

ree

And not before long we were stopping at Caiguna again for a quick fill up and for a fattie feed and some Caiguna souvenirs.

ree

And while your passing through you can't but stop at Caiguna's only tourist attraction! The world famous Caiguna Blowhole.

ree

And as you can see it's a family favorite to stop at the blow hole, this one we had the whole mob and it was in 2015.

ree

And again way back in 2008 with Sarah and Jacko.

ree

And so after a few feeds and some drinks we hit the road for the rest of the drive home, and as you cane see we found another friend in Caiguan. It's Wedgie the Wedge-tailed eagle who took over from little Eddy the Galah on the front car dash, now we just have to Seattle in for a nice long drive as we had a fair bit still to go.... Like 1084 kms more.

ree

One of the roadtrains that we passed on our trip, fairdinkum she one real beauty hay

ree

With the sun going down on a very long day we decided to just keep driving till we got home, the idea of a nice cold shower, cold beer and a warm soft bed made up my mind so without stopping we just kept driving. Trust me if you can it's a lot better to just pull over and have a good night's sleep, and then hit the road again with a good feed on ya and a hot coffee but in this case we drove nice and slow as night fell... with the thought of a nice cold beer in my mind.

The final photo...

ree

Yes we finally made it home for that nice cold beer and a good soft bed,

so after 9265kms, 1422kms today, seeing my happy family, one beaut mum, about six Macca's, two hungry jacks, a Carl's jr, two packets of sausages, about thirty coffees, four steaks, endless beers, six chicken schnitzels, three extra kilos, bugger all showers and a Butter Chicken... We have finally driven into our driveway.

So after a well worked for beer (or two), I'm looking forward to a nice refreshing shower and a beaut warm bed ... No more fucking tent!
