An arvo at Whitemans Park.

We spend a lot of time at Whitemans Park over the years, but I just noticed we haven't put to many posts about our time their.

So here is one of our day trips to Whitemans and today we had a trip on the old train, services are half hourly from the Village Junction Station. Today we were taking the ride that takes you through Kangaroo station, along the way you can enjoy a scenic trip around the bushland loop which takes you back to Village Station.

The kiddies on the train carriage they had a ripper time looking out the windows.

Then it was over and we were off to our other attraction for the day...

And that was the 'The Revolutions Transport Museum', which is much more than the State’s only land transport heritage museum. It is also an engaging exhibition that showcases the far reaching impact that our transport choices have made, on Western Australian lives and landscapes.

What a ripper wagon most of the shed is full off old stuff that Lew Whiteman used in his day on the land, and some of the equipment he brought for the museum over the years.

Here are the kiddies next to PERTH TRAM No 35. Which was imported from the USA in 1902 for use in Kalgoorlie, it was then transported in 1903 for use in Perth before the trams were finished in 1958.

What a ripper old truck this was used to transfer shearing teams by 'Synnot & Dunbar' during it's heyday for it's long northern runs.

Lew Whiteman was a good horseman who had heaps of different horse equipment over the years, this is just a small view of his horse gear on show.

Anybody who knows me knows I'm a sucker for old stagecoaches, and this is an old COBB & Co and it's in good condition.

Then we came apon an old legend... the famous old EJ HOLDEN

Doesn't the old girl bring back some memories like no air-con and crap steering, but the old bench-seat in the front was a little ripper. Here we have Sarah driving (holy crap) what a thought, but it's still an old living legend and it's great to see this one has a nice home and not laying out in the bush rusting.

I can remember the old ash tray on the back seat, something that is disappearing on most of the new cars... not a bad thing.

I reckon this looks just like dad's old falcon, what ya reckon old fella?
